This patient scheduled a consultation with Dr. Mark Richards, a board certified plastic surgeon in North Bethesda, MD, hoping that she was a candidate for liposuction. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that is designed to slim and reshape specific areas of the body where there are deposits of fat that may be out of proportion to the rest of the body. There are several different techniques used in liposuction, including tumescent technique, power assisted liposuction, ultrasound assisted liposuction and laser assisted liposuction. On this patient, Dr. Richards used a state-of-the-art form of laser-assisted liposuction called LipoSelection by VASER.
