About Lori H. Saltz, M.D.
Lori H. Saltz, M.D., joined the surgical staff of the La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre having completed ten years of medical and surgical training. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University in 1976, and her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Oregon in 1980. She then trained for three years in general surgery at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, and completed a three-year residency in plastic surgery - a year more than the two years required in this specialty - at Loyola University Medical Center in the Chicago suburb of Maywood, Illinois, in 1986.
Dr. Saltz is board certified in cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Besides the extensive training and competency that Dr. Saltz brings to La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre, she also brings the unique perspective of a female plastic surgeon. Skilled in many areas of plastic surgery, her particular interest is in body contouring, particularly after massive weight loss.
Dr. Saltz comes from an accomplished family of physicians. Her father and brother are both surgeons in Portland, Oregon, specializing in diseases of the ear, nose and throat.
Her mother is a professional designer and seamstress. Learning the complexity and beauty of sewing from her mother and grandmother helped her in later years to win local and national recognition for French hand sewing.
Within this talented and thoughtful environment, Dr. Saltz decided with certainty at a very young age to become a surgeon. Her passion for structure, delicate work, and human interaction came into clear focus through her medical education, where she earned high praise for her attentive surgical technique.
Dr. Saltz and her husband Steven, a board certified anesthesiologist, have resided in San Diego's North County since 1986. They have two children, Jonathan and Gillian, and spend much of their time together enjoying family activites.
About Johan E. Brahme, M.D.

Dr. Brahme was born and raised in Malmo, Sweden, and has a long tradition of medicine in his family, his father and grandfather both being physicians. Dr. Brahme immigrated to the USA in 1970 and settled in La Jolla. He received his undergraduate education at Revelle College, UCSD, and was awarded his medical degree from the School of Medicine at UCSD as well.
Dr. Brahme completed a six year General Surgery residency at the UC San Diego School of Medicine in 1987. Upon graduation he was awarded the Chairman's Prize for Outstanding Achievement. He remained on the University's faculty for two years as a teacher and cancer surgeon, specializing in breast cancer treatment. Dr. Brahme was also selected as a Joseph H. Boyes fellow in hand surgery in Los Angeles, a prestigious program with emphasis on children's hand surgery.
Dr. Brahme is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He currently limits his practice to plastic surgery.
As President of the San Diego Plastic Surgery Society, Dr. Brahme has earned respect and recognition for his standing in the plastic surgery community and continues to champion patient education and safety. As Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of California at San Diego, a voluntary position, he remains active in teaching of plastic surgeons in training. He also helped host a prominent Chinese plastic surgeon from Beijing, who was visiting La Jolla on a one year fellowship.
Dr. Brahme volunteers his talents as a Plastic surgeon in Mexico for the benefit of disadvantaged children, repairing Cleft lips and palates as well as hand deformities through the Interface program at UCSD. He also continues to lecture locally and internationally on topics in plastic surgery.
Dr. Brahme is accomplished in all areas of plastic surgery, and brings a unique sensitivity and special aesthetic knowledge to his patients. Specializing in both face and brow lifts, as well as breast and body contouring, he is often asked to combine multiple procedures to achieve optimal results. Many of his patients develop a lifelong relationship with him, bringing friends and relatives from near and far to see him.
Dr. Brahme lives in La Jolla with his wife Sevil, also a physician. She is a radiologist who was recently featured in San Diego Magazine's "The Best Doctors in San Diego" issue. They have two children, Lucas and Alexandra, both in elementary school. Dr. Brahme is an avid musician, playing and performing with local groups, and also enjoys art, cooking and international travel.

About Reza Sadrian, M.D.
Dr. Reza Sadrian is a board certified plastic surgeon, specializing in cosmetic surgery of the FACE, BREAST and BODY. Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with over 16 years of rigorous training, Dr. Sadrian holds the distinct and rare honor of being one of only a few select plastic surgeons dually certified in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery as well as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Sadrian’s impressive educational resume includes completing his medical degree at Eastern Virginia and his doctorate of dental surgery at University of Washington, Seattle. He completed his training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland / Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. After finishing his prerequisite general surgery training in Seattle, he then completed his rigorous plastic surgery training at the world-renowned Baylor College of Medicine, within the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Dr. Sadrian has trained with and been mentored by legendary international experts in all areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery including cosmetic, micro and craniofacial surgery.
Dr. Sadrian brings his years of extensive training in Plastic Surgery to his practice at La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre with a philosophy based on treating each patient and each surgery as a unique opportunity. According to Dr. Sadrian, "plastic surgery is one of the few areas of medicine where no two patients or procedures are ever alike, bringing a sense of excitement with each new patient I see."
"I am devoted to helping patients achieve their personal surgery goals by taking the time to really get to know them, educating them on all options available and then ultimately, setting realistic goals so that every patient feels they have received their desired results. With careful planning and attention to detail, I strive to obtain balance, proportion and symmetry to obtain a natural and aesthetically pleasing result my patients desire." His expertise combined with a keen eye for aesthetics and a warm, caring approach draws patients to his care.
Dr. Sadrian joined La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre after years of heading his own practice. The turning point for him in making the change came when he realized that at LJCSC, he would be able to offer his patients treatment and services to meet all their cosmetic surgery needs through the combination of the LJCSC Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology divisions. "I truly believe that the way of the future in Cosmetic Surgery is the combination of these two specialties and at LJCSC, we have the leaders in laser surgery to complement our surgical practice."
Dr. Sadrian has earned a multitude of prestigious awards, authored scientific articles and book chapters and has lectured around the globe on topics in plastic and maxillofacial surgery. He has served as chief resident of the Baylor College of Medicine division of Plastic Surgery and the University of Maryland division of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. He is currently a staff surgeon at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla.
At the end of each day, Dr. Sadrian says he leaves satisfied and happy, knowing he has helped to enhance a person's natural beauty, making them feel better about themselves and ready to face new challenges.
About Vincent P. Marin, M.D.
"I always knew I would be a surgeon. Plastic Surgery attracted me because it’s one of the few specialties that is as intriguing as it is complex. A heightened level of skill is required to be a great plastic surgeon. When you consider your final results are impossible to hide, doing it well becomes the ultimate challenge. Cosmetic enhancement offers a certain degree of artistic freedom and interpretation. And that makes my profession one of the most satisfying I can imagine."
Dr. Vincent P. Marin, a native of San Diego, graduated with honors from Harvard College and subsequently earned his medical degree from the prestigious Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. During his extensive surgical training, he served as Chief Resident of the Baylor College of Medicine Division of Plastic Surgery at the world renowned Texas Medical Center. A Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Marin is among the academic elite in his specialty.
"After spending 15 years completing a rigorous undergraduate program, medical school, and residency I consider myself trained at the highest level. The options available to prospective cosmetic surgery patients can be daunting. Elective surgery is still surgery. It's important that patients feel confident in the expertise we offer. It's not as level a playing field as one might expect. I feel fortunate to have been part of some very distinguished programs and I'm comfortable comparing my qualifications openly."
Dr. Marin specializes in procedures of the face, breast and body. He recently served as the Director of Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Care at the Gunter Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery in Dallas.
Dr. Marin feels strongly that a productive consultation is one of the most important steps in the process of selecting the right surgeon. He enjoys talking with patients who have done their research, but maintains that brochures, videos and the Internet tend to generalize procedures that ultimately must be tailored to the individual. Dr. Marin describes his primary role as guiding prospective patients through the myriad of cosmetic enhancement procedures and interpreting the information in a personal context. Patients, he believes, cannot successfully be treated without his first establishing a high degree of trust and respect.
"There are three things I want every patient to know; first, that whatever we do will be safe. I am not a gimmick surgeon and won't cut corners. I believe in basic results that will last. Second, my intention is that no patient ever feels they are on an assembly line. It's impossible to connect with a patient when either of you feels rushed. I will take as much time as necessary to listen and incorporate their goals into our treatment plan. And third, the smarter I make my patients; the happier they are as a partner in the process."
Most people seek subtle, but distinct enhancements in their appearance. According to Dr. Marin it takes insight to be able to discern the proper recommendation. "It's a question of balance. I have to analyze which surgical and/or non surgical treatments are appropriate in accordance with a patient's expectations, lifestyle, recovery parameters and budget. Flexibility is the key."
Dr. Marin's extensive experience with non invasive procedures gives him this flexibility.
The demand for BOTOX® injections and dermal fillers continues to climb whether they are used to postpone or refine surgical intervention. They also serve as a great vehicle to maintain an ongoing relationship with patients.
"This is really the icing on the cake because surgery does not do it all. Injectables add the artistic completion of the picture for post surgical patients. Those who are not surgical candidates can still enjoy subtle, temporary improvements to their appearance. Injectables give me the platform to meet patients anywhere along the continuum. I don't want to have someone else start or finish my work for me."
Dr. Marin loves what he does. The variety, the challenges, the advances—nothing is routine.
"I always keep in mind that to be able to make a living at what I love is a gift."
