Philosophy

Dr. Lavine takes a personal approach with each patient and feels that it is very important for the patient to be as informed about their choices as possible. During a consultation with Dr. Lavine, your concerns and expectations will be thoroughly discussed. In addition, examples of patient results, informational videos and pamphlets are available to enhance your understanding of the procedure goals and how they apply to you.

The principle goal of the Center for Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery is to establish an environment in which the patient's needs will be cared for with state-of-the-art knowledge, equipment, products and personalized services. Proposed treatment programs and surgery will be individualized and based solely on sound medical knowledge. In this regard, each patient will obtain his or her maximum aesthetic potential. The Center for Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery will always uphold the principles and ethical standards of the honorable art and practice of medicine.

About Dr. Lavine

Education

Although  Dr. Lavine has been in practice since 1977, he first fell in love with plastic surgery at the age of 13, when his father, a board certified ophthalmologist, took him on rounds with him and introduced him to the new and developing specialty. Dr. Lavine did his undergraduate work at Duke University, from which he graduated in 1968. He then attended the University of Virginia Medical School in Charlottesville, Virginia, to obtain his medical degree. Following graduation from the University of Virginia in 1972, Dr. Lavine moved to Dallas, Texas to begin his general surgery requirements for plastic surgery. He did his training at the renowned Baylor University Medical Center. After completing his training in plastic and hand surgery in Akron, Ohio in 1977, Dr. Lavine came to Fort Worth, Texas to start his practice.

He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. His professional bibliography includes publications in both national and international journals. Dr. Lavine is a founding member and past president of the Fort Worth Society of Plastic Surgery. In addition, you may have seen his contributions to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram "Health Talk" section, as well as "Focus on Health and Fitness" section and many other local publications.
