Dr. Rapaport
I had liposuction for the third time this past May by Dr David Rapaport in NYC. I had had 2 previous ones done in the early and then mid 90s, but after an injury wanted to eliminate the roll that accumulated around my gut. So I went to him, he gave me the spiel, and we decided that I was a good candidate for the procedure.
Well, here it is almost 6 months later, and I can tell you that the surgery has changed my life. The aesthetic results are good and I am very happy, but the surgery allowed me to feel so much better about myself. I made certain changes and commitment to a better diet, regular exercise and so on, and it shows. Though people can't necessarily see my belly (unless they have x-ray vision), but so many have said to me "you look great" and I think it is the internal showing through because of how I feel about the external. So the surgery turned out be very therapeutic for me and caused me to "blossom" so to speak this summer, and everybody else has noticed it!

I'm 1 1/2 years post op to lower abs, flanks , circumferential thighs and 8 months post touch-up/post-op to lower leg right above knee area and am a patient of Dr. Rapaport in NYC.
I've always exercised and been conscious of my diet and post-op that is still the case -- in fact I find that post-op I'm more conscious.
I am still very pleased with my results 1 1/2 years later. At approaching 42 -- my proportions are all balanced -- I look as good as I feel and the decision to have lipo was one of the best decisions I had made for myself. 1 1/2 years later I still look to loose some weight (as lipo is not a weight loss tool) but am still a 4 - 6 and feel confident on the beaches in a bikini -- an can draw a look or 2.
For those considering lipo -- more important than anything else is your choice of PS's. Do not bargain hunt -- even though the most expensive is no always the best either. Everyone is different but references, questions and information should be your focus as well as a realistic perception of outcome -- and not as much on the pain factor. It's a long road and not one that is a quick fix - you will not go in on Friday and see your results on Monday. It takes many, many Mondays. And it takes maintenance. You also need to consider the maintenance factor in the overall outcome of your surgery.
For me it was well worth the cost, the recovery, the worry and the experience to be where I am today.

I had my surgery about 10 weeks and I am very happy w/results so far. I'm from Long Island too, and used a surgeon in Manhattan. My PS was Dr. Rapaport. He's a sponsor of this site. Two others on this board have also used him and are happy.

I'm a patient of Dr. Rapaport and have had great results. He is a sponsor of this site. At 12 weeks, my legs have smoothed out. No more lumps & bumps in legs or abs. I have gone down to a size 4 and overall weight difference of 8 lbs. Good Luck to all of you!!!
My name is Dennis and I have contemplated liposuction for some time. I saw a documentary on liposuction and was very nervous about pain, etc. After a recent vacation and UNABLE to eliminate my problem area with exercise I chose to undertake the surgery. I saw an ad for Dr Rapaport in my New Yorker magazine. I contacted Dr. Rapaport's office and was given a free consultation.
I had NO intention of booking with the first surgeon I met, however, I was very impressed with the doctor's level of education, personality, experience level and ultimately great before and after photos!!! I felt like 100% of the doctor's attention was on MY concerns which I feel is critical for a happy outcome.
I booked my procedure and returned on my day of surgery. I was expectedly nervous. Dr. Rapaport explicitly went over and marked my trouble areas (lipo of abs, flanks and chest). I had the surgery and was shocked that upon awakening there is no pain at all due to medication still in system. I was shocked and thought to myself "piece of cake". Here is the great part.....After the initial swelling period I started to see my new body take shape....I still can't believe it is me. The results EXCEEDED my expectations.
On my most recent vacation it was great to get compliments from friends who said" I don't know what your doing, but keep it up"......This was great. I did a lot of reading before my surgery and read that some people had poor results with some doctor's. I am sooo happy with my choice. My results were PERFECT and I just wanted others to learn from my experience. I also wanted to thank Dr. Rapaport here (publicly) for profoundly changing my life!!!!
