At Barber Center for Plastic Surgery we are committed to providing our patients with individualized care and attention in a safe and confidential setting. Dr. Barber and his staff assist and educate each patient on the many possibilities and options available through plastic surgery in our state-of-the-art facility. Our patients are then able to make well-informed decisions about their procedures, resulting in an improved quality of life.

About Dr. Barber

William Byron Barber II is regarded as one of the most prominent plastic surgeons in his field and has recently been selected one of America's Top Surgeons for 2004-2005. He has been practicing plastic surgery in Greensboro since 1990 and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is presently the chief of Plastic Surgery at Moses Cone Hospital System and is an active member of numerous local, regional and national plastic surgery organizations.

Committed to maintaining the highest standards in Plastic Surgery, Dr.Barber specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face, including face and neck lift, eyelid rejuvenation, and brow lift. His expertise also includes body contouring procedures such as liposuction, abdominoplasty, and removal of excess skin after major weight loss. Breast surgery, including breast enlargement, breast reduction, breast lift and breast reconstruction following mastectomy are also areas of special interest for Dr. Barber. Just as each patient is seeking the right plastic surgeon, Dr. Barber is likewise evaluating each patient as to her desires and expectations and in turn his ability to deliver what is expected. Not every patient who wants plastic surgery is a good candidate for plastic surgery and Dr. Barber will educate and advise his patients regarding results that are realistic.

Dr. Barber is a regular contributor in the field of plastic surgery to the Greensboro News and Record column on "Ask the Doctor" and has appeared as a guest on local television for questions regarding plastic surgery.

A magna cum laude from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Dr. Barber received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his general surgery residency at Bethesda Naval Hospital and his plastic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center. Dr Barber was also the Christine Kleinert Fellow at the University of Louisville.

Married to Henrietta D. Barber of Georgetown, S.C., Dr. Barber and his wife have three children. One of his children attends Wofford College and another is at the University of South Carolina. The third child is attending high school.
