About Dr. Lois

Education

Dr. Lois has specialized in plastic surgery since 1976. He is a proponent of Body Profile Improvement (BPI) a term used to describe elective aesthetic plastic surgery procedures.

He has been recognized for his skills as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with Eastside Medical Center and Gwinnett Medical Center and a former Medical Director and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Gwinnett Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Dr. Lois is certified in plastic surgery through the American Board of Plastic Surgery--the only organization recognized for plastic surgery certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties. (ABMS and American Medical Association form a liaison committee that approves the boards qualified to certify doctors in each medical specialty. In 1973, he received his medical degree from the New Jersey College of Medicine. He completed his residencies in general and plastic surgery at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. He was awarded a fellowship and completed research in aesthetic surgery with Dr. Eugene Courliss, MD., at Newton Welsley Hospital , Massachusetts in 1978.

Prior to entering private practice in 1980, Dr. Lois was Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Coney Island Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Lois constantly updates his aesthetic surgical skills through additional research and training in new BPI techniques. He is actively engaged in private research contributing to the latest aesthetic plastic surgical advances and regularly attends symposiums on aesthetic plastic surgical procedures. Dr. Lois created his own liposculpting technique--Vertical Gravity Assisted Liposculpting (VGAL). Using this technique the patient is placed in the upright position by use of a special tilt table designed by Dr. Lois. This allows more precise fat removal.

Dr. Lois is also creator of The Aesthetic Institute™ which brings together Aesthetic Surgery, Paramedical Cosmetology (Estetica skin and laser centre), and LifeDesigns centre for optimal wellness. (Life Designs). This brings to each patient many modes of Aesthetic care.

A resident of Gwinnett since 1980. Dr. Lois is a member of the National Racquetball Association, where he competes on the amateur level. He enjoys scuba diving, biking, hiking, and white water rafting.
