Dr. Hainer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and continued there completing his medical education at the University of Michigan Medical School. He then completed a full 5-year residency in general surgery at the University of Michigan and Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. This then led him to Portland, Oregon where he completed a fellowship in plastic surgery at the Oregon Health Sciences University.
Dr. Hainer went on to do an additional year of fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic in Hand Surgery. Currently, he is board-certified in general surgery, plastic surgery and hand surgery. He is proud of his educational background and is a strong advocate for patients to seek out appropriately trained surgeons.
